Japanese-inspired purses for everyday use

At The Organic Company, Japanese design has always been a great source of inspiration. There is something recognizable about Japanese design that appeals to you - think, for example, of simple minimalism, functionality, classic and timeless shapes and natural materials such as wood, stone and clay. It is clear to see the common roots between Scandinavian and Japanese design. By incorporating Japanese design, we want to create a product that mixes the best of the two styles, but with our own special twist.

It is not only in the meeting between Japanese and Scandinavian design that we find inspiration. It is also in Japanese society and culture in general. Some of the values ​​we associate with Japanese culture are: orderliness, respect, thoughtfulness/opinion and thoroughness. Those values ​​are fundamental to our entire company - from development and design to the various phases of production itself. We do things properly and with respect for each other and nature. There is meaning and long-term intentions behind the products we choose to send out into the world. We want to help change the world step by step towards a more sustainable and fair future for everyone. We do this, among other things, by ensuring that all our products are made from GOTS-certified organic cotton, but also by creating timeless, functional and long-lasting products that will still be relevant many years from now.

Especially in our design of bags and wallets, the Japanese inspiration is great. They are functional, minimalist and made to last for a long time. That is why we have chosen to name the colors in this series after some of the great Japanese personalities who have particularly inspired The Organic Company's founder Joy Vasiljev, namely writer Haruki Murakami, filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki and designer Rei Kawakubo.

What they have in common is their great passion for their work, their visionary ideas and the thoroughness with which they are carried out. Regardless of whether we are talking about Murakami's books, Miyazaki's many films for Studio Ghibli or Kawakubo's designs for Comme des Garçons, they are all current and relevant today - and their themes such as pacifism, a deeper understanding of life and a focus on timeless and long-lasting design ( anti fashion) is perhaps even more relevant today than ever.

Durable wallets for cards and coins

Our small wallet, measuring 9 x 12 cm, is especially designed to store your payment and identification cards, banknotes and coins. In the wallet you will find a small inner pocket where you can store your coins and other small items. The wallet is designed so that you can keep track of the little things in your life in an orderly and organized way.

Simple and stylish makeup purses

If you need more space, we also offer a slightly larger purse / bag. It measures 16 x 21 cm and is perfect for all your small everyday accessories - especially the small things that often get lost at the bottom of your big bag. You can conveniently store them in our large wallet so that you have easy and quick access to them. In addition to smaller items such as a mobile phone, keys, charger, lip balm or your passport, the wallet can also be used with advantage for make-up. We have received a lot of good feedback from our customers who use the large purse as a make-up purse.

Both the small and large wallet come in hard-wearing canvas, which is produced from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. They therefore keep their shape and are made to last for many years.
